Re: Salvation...Your will or GodsReply

The scripture is clear that man, in his fallen state, is unable to comprehend the things of God much less seek after Him (cf. 1 Co. 2:14; Rom 3:10-18). We were dead in our trespasses and sin (cf. Eph 2:1). Dead men don't eat ice cream! As Jesus said, we can't even see the Kingdom of God unless we are born again...

We were given physical life. It is a gift! Does this fact negate our human free-will? Of course not. There are choices in life that we cannot make because they are not within our nature or capacity to make them. This doesn't mean we don't have free-will; only that it is limited (relative vs. absolute).

There is nothing in or about us that warrants God favor (cf. Isa. 64:6). We didn't "figure" it out or are somehow smarter than the next guy. It is by God's grace alone that we are saved (cf. Eph. 2:8-10; Rom. 9:15-16). We cannot "lose" our salvation because it doesn't belong to us. It is a gift bestowed upon us, not because we are worthy or have any merits, but because He has shown us mercy! All praise be to His name!
