|Re: Prayer in Preaching||Reply|
I believe that prayer is a very important step in the process of preparing and delivering a sermon. I believe that in order to deliver an effective sermon, the minister must be in tune with the Spirit. There is no other way to stay in tune with the Spirit of God except through prayer. As we deleiver our sermons we are acting as a mouthpeice of the Lord. Therefore we must have the Spirit (which is the Holy Ghost) in us if we want the words of God to come though us. This means that there must be some form of communication going on between our spirits and The Spirit - which can only be carried out through prayer.
